help me find this awesome band i heard in a coffee shop in Johannesburg

Name-that-music-artist-filter (South Africa style)...

This is a long shot, but...

I was in a very chill coffee shop in Johannesburg a few weeks back and they had some very laid back music playing - something about half-way between hip-hop and techno. Not too Kanye, not too Moby.

I asked them who it was, and he said "______ & Justice" - or at least that's what it sounded like to me through his thick accent (second name might have been "Justas" or some other variation). Problem is I couldn't understand the first name very well and I promptly forgot it.

So that's about all I have to go on. I figure there's a 50% chance the artist is South African, but googling with that as a context or without has yielded nothing so far...

It might help to know what neighborhood in Jo'burg you were in. . . Rosebank is worlds away from Hillbrow, for example, and so is the music you might have heard

This is a long shot, but could it have been the French band Justice? They're very popular right now.

Endemic Void & Justice, perhaps? This search came up with this as the top hit. Endemic Void and Justice are mentioned in the "AIRTO MOREIRA" paragraph.

Response by poster: It might help to know what neighborhood in Jo'burg you were in. . .

I was in Parktown North - a few blocks south of Rosebank. A smallish shopping center with a Woolies and a few trendy restaurants (sushi, etc.).

Can't get streaming media here at work (at least not Myspace's) so I'll check the first two suggestions this eve...

I was also going to ask if it was the French band Justice. Their music is kind of like what you described.

Yeah, he could have said, "The French band Justice" and you heard the and Justice part.

Response by poster: Hey guys - I'm digging Justice, but I'm pretty sure they're not the same guys I heard. The stuff I heard was still a bit more laid back (maybe a bit jazzy, even) than Justice.

Endemic Void's "Eastern Mass" sounds closer to what I heard than anything else so far, but the stuff he did with Justice (apparently a different Justice than the French one) also sounds a little more towards the harder electronica than the groove stuff I was hearing.
