Lost At Sea But Still In The Know

I can't for the life of me think of this company's name and my GoogleFU is not working. I am looking for a company or service that supplies news to cruise ships.

Instead of supplying entire newspapers to cruise ships, the ships often subscribe to a wire service where they receive a condensed version of the days news.

It's like subscribing to the AP or Press association but the stories are from multiple providers and shortened.

Is there anyone familiar with any of these companies or know of any companies that do this?

This may not be what you're looking for, but I think that modern cruise ships pretty much all have a satellite internet connection. While certainly not broadband, that data link would be plenty fast for downloading a thousand AP stories from a regular RSS feed.

Many cruise ships now have kiosks that receive data via satellite and print whole newspapers on demand. So you walk up to the kiosk and select Philadelphia Inquirer, The Guardian, NYT, whatever, and it will print the entire newspaper in a jiff.

Best answer: Here's a link for the TimesDigest Kiosk.

A company called Team Talk Satellite Ltd. puts together the editorial content for the foreign editions, and transmits them to ships.
