Lost comic: Humor Analysts Say The Darndest Things. (or something)

Single panels depicting very unfunny situations, eg plane crashes, aprtment fires, multi car pile ups, that kind of thing. Off to the side would be a couple of guys in lab coats with clipboards (ostensibly humor analysts), one of whom would be saying to the other: "It would be funnier if..."

I'd love to see it again, appreciate any links or bibliographic info.

It must be a Far Side panel. Scientists in lab coats was a pretty common element in the "strip". Now you just have to comb through the anthologies to find it.

I don't know. I've gone through years of Far Side page-a-day calendars and that one doesn't ring a bell.

Response by poster: Definitely not the far side. It was actually called "Humor Analysts Say The Darndest Things." As memory serves, I saw it in some comics anthologies in the early/mid nineties.

I think it was in Snake Eyes from Fantagraphics.

I probably even have a dead-tree copy stashed away somewhere.
