Any tips on troubleshooting my new slingbox connection?

I just bought the slingbox and put it in my parents home outside of Boston (dsl connection).

Whe I try to watch the sox games in NC (roadrunner), the stream is VERY choppy and freezez about every 20 seconds...

Any idea what may be wrong?

DSL tends to have relatively slow upstream caps than down. You may be getting choked.

Check their provider for upstream caps.

Did you open ports for it on the router?

Run a speed test like speedtest.net on both machines.

dont know what sort of modem/router set up your using. DSL bandwidth - upstream in particular - is severly limited. your best bet is check your QOS and dedicate an amount of bandwidth solely to your slingbox. make sure you have all your filters properly installed - this'll make sure nothing else in your home is choking out your sync.

don't watch it in full screen mode?
sometimes you have to lower the resolution to get a good picture, especially if it is in HD.
