What is best option for a GPS/Navigation system for a frequent international traveler?
I have checked high/low to find one definate answer.. but more confused than before.
I need some soft of portable gps set for travelling, Europe, Korea, and U.S.
I was hoping one solution but.. it seems easier to get separate gps for each country. But I want to get some suggestions.
I was thinking to get 3 separate gps for each country
OR
get one gps and buy 3 separate maps...(europe/us is easy.. but getting korea map is hard)
OR
buy one of those UMPC (Asus R2Hv, Samsung Q1, or QOQ)
get microsoft map thing... ( I don't know how realistic to use these umpc for everyday gps use...any thoughts?)
Please suggest any thing gps... which one is best ? which solution works ?
I tried to use my 12" laptop with gps one time in u.s.... but screen washes out in the car,... and gps performance was horrible... beside.. there aren't that much room in a car for 12" tablet pc...

Best answer: Garmin's pretty good (except for the Rino! Avoid!) They have numerous mapping handheld GPS units that take AAs, which can be very convenient if you don't always have time to recharge at your hotel room.
Maps can be pretty expensive, but if you look on Garmin's website, there are map viewers, so you can see if the level of detail is enough. If you buy a GPS in the U.S., it should come with a U.S. map, and then you could buy a European map, and maybe the WorldMap is enough for Korea, but probably not. You might have to get a Korean GPS unit if you need street-level mapping there.
Good luck!
