Paprika melted my mind

I have some questions about Paprika (MeFi).

[Spoilers]
Where did the parade start? If the people dreaming the parade are all crazy how does it hold together?
Is Paprika just a representation of Dr. Chiba or a totally separate personality?
Why didn't the detective need a machine when he visited the website with the bartenders?
Why did the Chairman need a "body"? Couldn't he have just used the DC mini himself?

Response by poster: Oh, and while looking for information about the movie, I found the composer's site which has that super-catchy theme song available for free

Uh, couldn't you have had a SPOILER ALERT? I'm planning on seeing the movie, and am currently hoping that you didn't ruin parts for me.

Response by poster: Um... I did.
Maybe admins could change my spoiler warning to the one you specified?

Oh, I see it. Unfortunately, the spoiler alert is too close to the text, and you tricked me into reading everything! AHH MY EYES

Or, admins, could we have a 'spoiler warning' on the front page?

As spoilers go, they're awfully mild ones -- here's little here that you don't pick up very early in the movie. You know Paprika = Chiba before the credits end, for example (and in a really cool sequence, at that.)

Just my take (and these ARE spoilers)?

The parade started with a patient that we never see. The parade isn't really holding together all that much -- it's simply a representation of the swirling chaos in their minds.

Paprika is Dr. Chiba as she dreams of herself.

By the time the detective is vistiing the bar the mind of everyone who's ever used the DC mini has had the vbarriers between their mind and that of the others significantly eroded.
