Help on buying glasses

I'm thinking of buying a new pair of glasses and am considering two companies http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk and http://nuglasses.co.uk has anyone out there bought from either of them? And if you did would you recommend them?

Eyeglassretailerreviews has mention of a few UK web-based eyeglass companies, but I see neither of yours listed there.

I purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses that I'm very happy with from Zenni, but it doesn't look like they ship to the UK (I assume from your question that's where you're located). Goggles4u is another online shop that seems to get good reviews and does ship to the UK.

This is as anecdotal as it gets, but a friend of mine bought glasses from Glasses Direct and couldn't have been happier. I didn't get round to ordering my own from them yet as I'm too wimpy to just get a prescription from my optician :-D

Zenni does ship to the UK. I have been happy with the glasses I have got from them, and certainly happy with the price, though have a slight question mark about durability. (No reason to think it worse than any in this price range.)

Shuron ship to the UK. I could not have been happier with my specs.

Simon Woodroffe (Yo! Sushi, ex-Dragons Den) had the founder of glassesdirect.co.uk as one of the guests on his podcast, seemed a nice bloke drawn to going up against the glasses market by an urge to prevent people from being ripped off.
