So Cal paddle surfing lessons?

I would like to take a paddle surfing lesson in the LA area in a couple weeks - any recommendations for where to rent a board and get a lesson (I am a fairly new surfer - but long-time board sport person (skateboarding, snowboarding).

If what you want is to get out in the water, then why not try paddleboarding? I think that the surfing part of paddle surfing is likely to be problematic. I'm not saying that you won't eventually find someone to give you lessons but finding a way to coexist with other surfers, especially as a new surfer, will be a challenge. The paddleboarders, who are, in general, older, harder core water men and women, are also more likely to be able to give you pointers to people who know about paddle surfing if you decide that you're still interested.
