I need help identifing a NES game!

What was the name of that side scrolling game for the NES in which you where a space ship that shoots flying enemies that look like hamburgers?

I've been trying to find this game for years! I recently found MeFi, and so hopefully my first question will bring me help!

At one point throughout the game you fight Medusa as a boss, and there is a spot where you have to blast a path through blocks in order to continue through the level before you hit them.

Thanks!

It's either Graidus or Life Force, both by Konami. The up up down down code works on these games too, as I recall.

And there's this cheat mode speed run. At ~1:20 you have to blast a path or die, and it only gets better from there.

Is it Stinger? I don't remember a hamburger, but I do remember a slice of watermelon that shoots seeds at you.

Sorry I can't help answer your question (shooters were never really my cup of tea), but why not play these games online to be sure?

I'm fifteenthing LifeForce. In the final level, there are hamburger-like enemies (I think they're intended to be blood platelet cells.)

Additionally, there are several areas in LifeForce where you must shoot through walls and then fly through the path you've shot. Every stage, in fact, except the Prominence stage.

If this is right, then some of the NES version screenshots at this page should look familiar to you.

Apparently the speed run linked to above is from a TurboGraphix-16. Never played that one, but the dude is cheating like crazy. And he's flying stupid, not getting his second option or real lasers. Amatuer.

This screenshot could very well be your hamburger clincher.

They're not what I was thinking of, but they sure seem to qualify.
