Does anyone know how, where, how much anythign about replacing the dashboard of a 1998 Tj Jeep Wrangler?

I just purchased a nice lifted Jeep Wrangler. Everything on it is perfect expect I do not like the dashboard. It is covered with Camo. I'm just curious how i can replace or fix this.

Junk yard part + Haynes manual + lots of organization and patience.

The forums like this one (link) will be your friend --- there are a number out there, from ultra-hardcore rockcrawler, to mild mall crawler.

I haven"t replaced a dash in a TJ, but I have taken one almost completely apart, and it was easy. Buy a manual (I'd suggest the Haynes or Clymers that you can pick up at any auto parts store, plus the factory manual from the dealer) and that will walk you through the disassembly step by step. Getting the parts cheap will be the trick, though; you will want to start phoning wrecking yards.

Or, you could repaint it. It didn't come from the factory with camo paint, so you could just try painting it black or another color you prefer.

Another vote for going to a Jeep-specific board for this answer. In addition to the one that Forktine suggested, the one on 4x4Wire.com is also very friendly, and I'm sure someone there can answer this easily and may even be able to hook you up with a replacement dash if you so desire.

Try searching the Internets for Sooner Jeep, a Jeep salvage yard in Oklahoma. Their site is just a static page, but give them a call.

Years ago I had to replace my YJ transmission on the cheap, and they came through big time. Shipping was at cost, too. Good luck!
