St. Louis Ice Skating over New Years

St. Louis Ice Skating: I'd like to take a date ice skating in St. Louis for New Year's. Where can I go? My assumption is that it's not cold enough for an outdoor rink, so I'm probably looking for an indoor rink.

I haven't been able to find an indoor rink using Google, but I have to believe it exists somewhere in town. Thanks for your help!

Best answer: Steinberg Ice Rink in Forest Park will be open. I went last year on New Year's Eve and had a blast with my girlfriend. You can either do the cheap regular skating deal (which we did) or buy the New Years Party deal. The party pack gives you all your skating along with an appetizer buffet and free beer, wine, and hot chocolate.

Hell, if you end up going, I may see you out there - we're talking about going back to ring in 2007!

Additionally, there are many indoor rinks in STL. Kirkwood, Brentwood, the Mills shopping mall in North County. This search lists many of them on the first few pages:

Google Maps: Ice Skating St. Louis.

Best answer: Steinberg is definitely where you want to go for a date. If it isn't open, then try Webster Groves or Brentwood. Both are fine; you can find them in chrisamiller's link.

Best answer: Steinberg recently rebuilt their surface, so it should be able to handle skating, even if it's fifty out.

Alcohol on NYE + ice skating at Steinberg (plus the fact that it had been a number of years since I'd been on skates) seems like it should invite disaster, but we had fun there in '04...hope you do, too.
