Good Chinese reading for non-Chinese reader?

I'm looking for some good Mandarin Chinese online reading -- news, blogs, etc. Very simple -- no fancy academic language.

A good daily world news site in layman's writing would be perfect -- I'm looking to practice and expand my Mandarin vocabulary.

Go to the Google for Taiwan and you will get a good (uncensored) site to work with.
