Need suggestions for songs for a video about mom
We have a video project of putting together family pictures and want music related to my 76 year old amazing mom. We have the usual, Wind Beneath My Wings, etc. but would like other suggestions.

Warning: You need to decide if you want people to cry or laugh. I made one of these and it is easy to come off a little like a memorial tape, even if the person is still healthy and thriving, if the music is TOO sad and wistful. I also tried to pick songs from my parents' eras as well as ours.
I found a lively version of "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby" for a montage of our baby pics.
If it's just a segment of pics of mom, "Pistol Packing Mama" would be fun. Or "Papa Loves Mambo, Mama Loves Mambo."

Mama, You've Been On My Mind - Bob Dylan, or Rod Stewart also covers it. Not really about his mother, but it works.

How about choosing some of her favorite music? Really works well if she's always humming/singing a particular song that you've identified with her.

2nding: I'll always love my mama by the Intruders. @ sjuhawk31: I'm so glad I'm not the only one with this song on his mind. Makes me feel less alone. The long version is great for video's, long instrumental breaks and the chorus goes great with slomo's. This is going to be a room full of crying people. Nothing beats deep sentimental disco. Nothing.

What were the songs at her wedding? What kinds of music does she like? Does she have any special interests/former jobs that could be the basis for including a song?

If the idea is to jerk tears, there is a lovely song called "Mama, A Rainbow" from a little-known musical called Minnie's Boys. I don't know if there's a cast album of the show, but if not, it's likely that some vocalist or another has recorded the song on their own solo album.
