80'sDanceMusicFilter: "New York, New York, New York!"
My wife reminded me of this song last night. It sounds very "industrial" and if I remember correctly, in a very gruff voice, it repeated "New York, New York, New York!". Other possible lyrics are "City of Excitement" or "City of Enchantment". I believe it lists all of the boroughs, as well.
I want to say that it's by Gruesome Twosome, or Front 242. But I cannot seem to find it.
Thanks!

Response by poster: That wasn't it. I don't believe that there's a womans voice in it at all.
Thanks, though!

God I love that song!
It's Front242. I've got a very old rip from a very old mixtape.
"Be a part of it! Feel the heart of it! New York, New York, New York"
I also remember the line "city of the people, city of deceivers"
I'll be damned if I can find any good info online, though.

no worries... I'm an industrial DJ so this is kind of my thing. :)
(and, in case you were wondering, every single time I have ever had someone request this they thought it was 242 as well, if they even took a guess on the artist)

Kellydamnit - I seriously envy your vinyl. (now that I have lost sufficient rivet-cred, time to email my friend who made said mixtape and correct our joint 16 year misnomer! :)

Great song! Micro Chip league, another song by them - called communication - is pretty good too.

This question has made me temporarily insane. I remembered this song but couldn't remember it.... and dug around a little to try and find a place where I could hear it and found this 80's dance mix full of all sorts of memories from 198-sometime.
