Election celebration music? Let me rock the vote with your awesome music recommendations.

Okay.. It's time. Inspired by the Freedom video posted on mefi a couple days ago I'm looking for music to celebrate the changing times. Any suggestions?

If you like showtunes, "Morning Glow" from Pippin is about a change for the better.

I hate to piss on your parade, but I'm skeptical "the changing times" are changing as much as you might think. Aside from that, there have been some great AskMe threads in the past asking for political music. In fact, I seem to recall asking one myself ... rummages through old threads ... ah, yes: here's a question I asked about music for those goddamn liberals. Of course, if you're hoping for a different sort of change, you'll want to avoid that thread...

The Revolution Starts Now--Steve Earle

Hit The Road, Jack--Ray Charles (also doubles nicely for your impeachment party next year.)

When The Ship Comes In--Bob Dylan

Humorous, not celebratory, but Clinton got a Blow Job has much of the same sentiment as the Freedom Video.

Ooh, you'll want "Thank You America" by Cabaret Voltaire, if only for the warped Reagan sampling. Also "Renegades of Funk" by Afrika Bambaataa. Just 'cause.

Dammit, I posted before remembering a few others...

"Move On Up" and "We Got To Have Peace" by Curtis Mayfield
"Payback" by James Brown
and perhaps "Chocolate City" by Parliament
