Congress Facts: I watched this video on YouTube about Bernie Sanders that states he has sponsored 165 bills, but only one has become law. How can I find a concise list of stats like this (sponsored, vs become law) for all congressional members?

Try thomas.gov, a free site from the Library of Congress...

Best answer: This page lists every Rep and how many bills they sponsored and co-sponsored for each session. You can click through to see the whole list for each Rep.

Within the whole 109th Congress, there were 6,312 bills introduced in the House, of which 246 became law — about 1 in 25.

Along with the page smackfu linked, you can get summary stats for any session of Congress back through 1947 via the Résumés of Congressional Activity.

I'll add that you can get all sorts of expert help about using THOMAS via the various email resources on the site. The law librarians really do give personalized responses, and I hear the error report guy is way hot.
