oak apples

Ok, sooo, here's a long shot.
I was looking in a couple design books tonight and I saw one with a room displayed with pillows shaped like acorns.
They look like they were about 10-12 inches and not flat-- like 3-D little smooshy velvety acorns. They looked pretty homemade but who knows.
My google fu fails me and I was sure I was going to find them with all the great crafty stuff I find on line.
I cant even sew but I will have to HIRE someone to sew them for me I feel like I need these so much. And I'm not an I-need-those kinda gal.
I looked around in the book to see if they were noted but they werent. If anyone has a clue Im willing to investigate.
Thanks

Response by poster: oooh Ostara you are on to something. Those are really similar/ The ones I saw were just smooshier looking.
But holy smokes did you see how much that was?! HAHAH- my couch was barely that much...
Super searching tho.
Thanks....(ears still on incase some sewing guru pops up with a link so patterns or something)

Ok, last try. Here are the results of a Google image search. Go about 3/4 way down the page and you'll see a picture of silk acorn and oak leaf pillows. But sadly, the site (Gump's) that the image is from no longer offers this product for sale. (But maybe you could contact them directly to ask about it?)

Response by poster: Thanks LobsterMitten. I certainly have some inspiration to learn to sew... Thanks for the clues.

Maybe you could ask in design*sponge. They don't have anything similar in their archives, but it sounds just like the things they blog about.

I don't think that'd be hard to make. If I owned a sewing machine, I think I'd be able to make that for you.
Without a pattern, I'd just make a tan bullet-shaped pillow and a plaid beret. Then I'd sew the flat part of the bullet (no point in sewing the bullet closed) to the beret and stick a stem on top.
If I weren't so crunched for time, I'd do a search on bullet pillow patterns for you. But I hope that helps?
