Fireworks Dropper

Macromedia Fireworks is one of my favorite tools, without peer (IMHO) when it comes to web design. But it recently stopped doing something I'd ranked among one of my favorite features. It used to be that when I clicked on a color-picking box, I could use the dropper tool to suck up colors outside of the application window, which is rather handy for quick color grab. Last week, it stopped doing this. How can I get this feature back?
Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you tried reinstalling it? I find it hard to imagine why the feature would work within the application but suddenly stop working outside it, unless you've installed something recently that's stealing the mouse clicks.
I second your opinion by the way - the export preview is excellent.

I highly recommend a little tool called Pixie - you can run it along with any program or simply on its own. There are hotkeys to grab the color info for use in whatever application you might be using. Also, it's free.
