yellow pills animation

Animation search: I'm looking for a short cartoon (possibly mid 90's when it was made) with a chronically wheezing guy who goes to the doctor for yellow pills. He travels in thick smog, which turns out is coming from the factory making the yellow pills. It's in color, but I don't think there is any speech. That's all I got, sorry. :/

I think I might have seen this before, but I can't remember any sort of information about it. I will be searching the internet for a while on this one.

Response by poster: Thanks. I could be wrong about the color of the pills, but for some reason yellow sticks.

Where did you see it?

I saw that at an animation festival once. It was definitely Latin American. It was either Quino, the Argentine comic strip artist who created Mafalda, or some Cuban animator. I'll dig a bit and see if I can come up with it.

It's hilarious!

Best answer: I'm 90% sure that it was one of Quino's collaborations with Cuban director Juan Padrón in the 1980s. There were 9 stories, each 5 minutes long. The project was called "Quinoscopio".

On www.youtube.com, you can type in "Quinoscopio" and check out the one video that is available. It's not the yellow pill factory episode, but it'll give you a sense of the animator's style. See if it looks familiar to you. Quino's distinctive signature tripped my memory, for some reason.

I hope this is it. Good luck tracking down a copy!

Best answer: Definitely Quino - I have that strip in one of my books. Email me if you'd like a scan.
