Looking for Go in all the wrong places.
Going to be in Chicago this weekend, my local shops don't carry Go (the game of course) sets, and I'd like to physcially look one over before buying, so the interwebs is my last choice. Anyone know of a store near the Skokie area of Chicago that would carry a range of Go sets?

When I was at Northwestern I went to this really cool Chinese bookstore on the corner Sherman and Grove in downtown Evanston that had lots of Go sets. But that was during the last millenium, so who knows if it has been replaced by a Blimpie's.

Samarkand has great stuff, Kiseido also. It's vanishingly unlikely that you'll find reasonable Go equipment in a brick and mortar establishment, even in a big city like Chicago.

Games Plus is a big gaming store in Mt. Prospect. Which is, uh, close to Skokie for obsessive gamer values of close. Call them up and see if they have any decent go sets.

Games Plus, as I recall, does not have any Go supplies.

Let me take a moment to pimp my beloved Great Hall games of Austin, which does have an amazing in-store Go selection.
I would be thrilled to find a place like this in Chicago.
Incidentally, I've been wanting to play some more Go. It's been a while and I'm desperately out of practice. If any Chicagoland people would like to get together for some FTF games, let me know. Email in my profile.
