Do you know of a decent cordless phone that isn't made in China?

Best answer: My PanasonicKX-TGA2356 is an awesome phone and the little label on it says "Made in Malaysia." I would suspect that all the Panasonics are made there.

Sorry I don't have an answer... but is there any particular reason you'd prefer a non-Chinese phone?

If you're worried about espionage or eavesdropping, you may want to consider VoIP with strong encryption, with a Bluetooth wireless headset.

If you're worried about prison labor and other social policy issues regarding China, you may want to head to the store, ask to look at the box or look at shelf/demo units. All the major American, Korean and Japanese vendors source manufacturing out to China now, as well as European vendors like Siemens, Ericsson and British Telecom.

The Nortel DSS 900 sitting on my desk was made in Canada.

You know, if you're worried about quality, it's good to keep in mind that "made in China" != "designed in China"

Response by poster: Venadium: I don't buy products made in China.

That's awesome. I'd avoid Made in China stuff but I'm too cheap.
