I'm concerned about some possible negative drug interaction from my meds

I am taking several meds. With each prescription, I expect the doc to consider any possible negative interactions w/ any other med, and I always ask. But still, I am lately having some symptoms that I don't care for. Are they related? Aside from grilling each provider again, is there a way to have the meds/dosage interactions evaluated?

This is something a pharmacist is trained to do. Stop by your pharmacy and chat with the pharmacist there!

2nding that this is a thing pharmacists do. It's a really common problem.

The above answers are correct I have absolutely had this kind of conversation with the pharmacist and I've had situations where they've been able to connect with my doctors and work cooperatively with their different specialties to find the best solution with the least side effects.

Also make sure you tell both the doctors and the pharmacists about anything you are taking over the counter including supplements, and so forth.

Pharmacist for sure. You can also check drugs.com for interactions (although you won't be able to account for dosage). You can also read the "product monograph" for each medication -- those list the rare side effects that might not be top of mind to providers.

Other factors can affect things too. Like if a drug is metabolized by your kidneys and you have kidney issues. So you probably should also check it out with your doc.

Is no one overseeing all the meds (like a GP)? Are you filling your prescriptions at different pharmacies? Are all your providers aware of all the meds other providers are prescribing?

also are you taking anything that requires checks with blood work (like thyroid meds or lithium)? if so are you doing that bloodwork regularly? another potential reason to talk to your doc/s
