How was this scarf tied?

Can you work out how this scarf was tied in this way? Because I sure can't. It looks like a Parisian knot, because there seems to be a loop, but I'm mystified by how the free ends appear to be coming out in different directions. Or perhaps the scarf was tied like this, placed around the neck, and adjusted? Unfortunately I don't know how to tie it that way either. But maybe you do?

It looks to me like half of a loose Parisian loop with some twisting and zhuzhing up for the camera. By half loop, I mean that only one of the hanging flaps (the top flap) was passed through the loop. The bottom flap looks like it was left hanging loose. Instead of being pulled snug, the loop looks like it was left loose and twisted upwards a bit. From there, the whole thing was poked and prodded to make attractive-looking folds.

It seems to me that this would not hang together for even three seconds of actual wear — it’s just a loose draping for the camera.

Best answer: I think you can do this by holding one end of the scarf against your chest, then taking the free end & wrapping it up and around your neck, then going around the neck one more time & pulling the free end down through the loop you created.

I'm pretty sure @belladonna has it.

Agree with belladonna, it's not tied at all, just wound around the neck with one end tucked under. Highly attractive but moderately functional.

@belladonna indeed has it. It's the same way I've always tied a scarf like this since the Paris loop doesn't look great on me--stylish but too loopy and not scarfy enough. Nor does the Paris loop keep my neck as warm as the "@belladonna loop." Thank you for the drawing!

+1 belladonna loop. Was coming to say the same thing.

Mod note: [The Belladonna LoopTM now tied attractively around the sidebar and Best Of blog! And we learned a thing!]

Response by poster: I think the belladonna loop plus much zhuzhing for the camera is the answer. What looked like a Parisian loop must actually be a kink, and the scarf is possibly folded up to a quarter of its width and/or twisted over along its length as well. Thanks all!
