Please help me find a Scandinavian crime series

It was set in Norway, Sweden, and possibly Denmark. It wasn't a series with seasons (like S01E01, etc.), but rather a new movie released every few years. As far as I remember, it was based on books by a specific author and is similar to "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." I just can't find it anymore. The release of new movies should still be ongoing, as I recall being excited about future installments. Each movie featured separate stories. Do you have any suggestions?

Wallander has been both movies and TV, in English and Swedish, based on books by Henning Mankell.

Jo Nesbo's books have been made into 4 movies so far. One is his Harry Hole character, the rest are other stories not part of that series. Hit publish too quickly, but I would also add Arne Dahl, real name Jan Arnald, who has had 2 movies and a series on BBC4.

Would it be the Beck series of films? There's also Hamilton but I would guess Beck over that.

Beck and Wallander were my suggestions.

The Beck series was based on books by Wahloo and Sjowall. They are extremely gritty and violent for television. You want the ones featuring Peter Haber as Beck.

The Wallander series has been filmed at least 3 or 4 times. The best are the ones featuring Rolf Lassgard as Wallander, made in the 90s and 2000s. He doesn't a fuck.

Liza Marklund wrote a series of books about Swedish crime reporter Annika Bengtzon. About six of them were made into movies starring Malin Crepin that were released in 2012 or thereabouts. I think I watched them on Netflix DVDs.
