Flexible works van hire in U.K.?

A director of a charity I’m involved with wants to hire a work van for a few months to see if driving a van - needed for the charity work - is feasible for their disabilities. What reputable companies do this, and what’s the cost? Thank you!

Response by poster: Note if relevant - The director’s disabilities don’t impede driving - there’s a neophobia around new experiences (they’ve never driven a van before, but their long suffering estate car needs urgent replacement and a van will work much better for everyone)

It's going to cost anywhere from £150 to £350 per month, depending on the size and make of the van, and on factors like expected mileage. There are a few big hire firms around, e.g. Nationwide, and there are likely to be lots of small ones local to you. I'd ask around on local FB groups to see who local businesses are happy with.

I'd suggest going with a smaller van such as a Berlingo or Transit Courier, as they're pretty much car-sized.
