Quick easy free transcript?

I want to generate quick transcripts of a few videos on YouTube and Vimeo. Is there a thing I can just dump the URL into and immediately get a transcript? (Like Video-to-MP3, but for transcripts). Thanks!<

If you give me a day, I might be able to put together a thing that downloads them from YouTube and then runs OoenAI Whisper which does much better speech recognition than YouTube's autogenerated transcripts.

The options I see:
download the automated captions the sites have generated
Run some software on your machine, to:
* download
* generate captions

If you're interested in running something, you should let us know your operating system.

Turboscribe is fantastic, and does exactly this. On the free plan you get three a day.

youtubetranscript.com is dead, I'm using the above downloadyoutubesubtitles.com before reverting to yt-dlp and asking it to get me subtitles from the closed-captioning options.
