Trying to hunt down a quote about the Oscar ' Curse'

Someone said that winning a Supporting Acting Oscar was a curse because (and I'm paraphrasing) it priced you out of cheaper film productions but also kept you out of getting starring roles because people casting those don't think you can carry a film by being it's Leading Actor.

I know about the 'Oscar Curse' in general and how it (apparently) doesn't hold up under statistical analysis, but I'm interested in the particular person who said the thing I paraphrased.

Any idea who it might be? Fairly sure I've seen it on multiple media sites, so don't think I imagined it, but am not one-hundred percent certain hence this question!

There does not seem to be a single unified quote. It appears to just be received wisdom in Hollywood, repeated many times in many contexts.

Michael Caine says something along these lines to Tom Cruise in his acceptance speech for Best Supporting Oscar in 2000. See ~4min mark here.

I don't have an answer but I was thinking about this yesterday reading Wikipedia profiles of Marisa Tomei and Mira Sorvino.

Meryl Streep seems to have beaten this curse, though.

(I mean, Mira Sorvino was less "Supporting Actor Curse" and more "Harvey Weinstein intentionally tanking her career because she wouldn't sleep with him", and Marisa Tomei was "Rex Reed made up a rumor that she hadn't actually earned her Oscar, and doubled down and said more made up things later". Definitely not what's being described...)

Maybe this:

Mercedes finally won the Oscar as Best Supporting Actress, and everybody else was sending flowers and congratulations. I said, "This is the kiss of death. You know, getting the Academy Award means your career is over." I said it jokingly, but truth comes out of jokes. It's a terrible thing because what happens is you go from being an actor or an actress to a star, and the world changes. Suddenly, your agent demands more money, and the parts offered are only starring roles. Very quickly, it all collapses again. I think the Academy Award can be the kiss of death for a lot of people. So, you're very happy never to be attracted to one. This way, I will live forever, never tainted with an Academy Award. I can almost guarantee it.
