Where do I search for ~month long rental for a family in Mexico?

I am interested in finding a place for two adults and one child to stay for about one month in Mexico (or another beachy location). I know about airbnb, vrbo, and... not much else. Where should I be searching?

We would like:
-a place for us all to sleep, cook, wash, etc
-the ability to swim daily (in a pool or the ocean or a lake)
-to walk or bus to get groceries etc
-a reliable internet connection (as I'll be working for part of the trip)

These are all pretty normal things, so I'm not looking for anything specialized.
We can share the house with a family, or not.
I'm sure that there are local sites that I should be looking at, but I'm not sure what's reliable, simple, easy, cheap, etc.

Can anyone with experience booking for stays of about one month please offer advice on which sites I should be searching?

I love Isla Mujeres in mexico. It's an island just off of Cancun, but way less busy than Cancun, which means that you can get a cheap flight, then there is just a 20 minute ferry ride to get from the airport to the island. This is a good website that covers everything you want to know. There's a lot of nice vacation house and apartment rentals on the island. You'd want to double check the internet access where you rent, but otherwise it's a great place to hang out.

sorry, should have been more specific, there's a bunch of rental accommodation listings on the places to stay section of isla-mujeres.net, which makes it a good place to start your search - many of the places are linked, or the names are given
