Good venue for an event in/around San Francisco?

I do show in in Toronto (info in bio to avoid self-link). I'm want to do the show in San Francisco and am looking for a venue. The show is a sort of off-kilter lecture series. We've toured it a lot to other cities. The ideal venue is a bar where shows happen, that's open to weird/smart/wordy events. Most places we play are places that mostly book bands, sometimes book other stuff, or places that do cabaret/variety/burlesque-type stuff.

Ideal traits in the venue:

- Can provide seating (it's not a show to be watched standing up)
- Seats maybe around 120 or so people
- Can do a ticketed event (ie - everyone in the room is there to see the show)
- Is a bar (not a theatre or whatever)

For context: A million years ago we did the show in SF at a place called 12 Galaxies, which was amazing. In New York we've played at the Slipper Room. In Toronto we're at the Garrison, previously at Sneaky Dee's. We've toured a lot of cities, and it usually does pretty well and we usually can sell out a 120-person room.

Any tips/leads/etc greatly appreciated!!

More than 10 years ago I went to a ticketed event called Bawdy Storytelling at the Verdi Club. It seems like they're still going strong and might be a possibility for you.

SF’s Odd Salon happens at Public Works, which appears to have a higher top capacity than you need, but they definitely have seats at the Odd Salon events.

The Swedish American Hall has some really unexpected charm.

DNA Lounge sounds like a good option.

Rickshaw Stop has always been amendable to weird/smart/wordy events, especially on weekdays. Don't let the photos fool you; they have folding chairs and can set up seating. They're able to do all ages events too if that matters to you.

Maybe El Rio though I'm not sure I've been to an all-seated event there or if they can do 120 seated.

If you can venture a little south, San Jose City Lights has theater and cabaret-style seating, and can have a bar set up for you.

More theatre with a bar than bar with a stage, Z Space might be an option.
