What does "Adam Gaza" mean?

The write-in data for Election 2023 has been published, and many races have "Adam Gaza" written in. Google has not been helpful in defining that term.

Best answer: The Twitter account links to VotaGaza.com which simply loads an error page. According to the Wayback Machine, it seems to have been broken since around 2015 but they do have an archive from 2014.

Here's the why page:
Why Vote GAZA

The Technical Side:
Because of electoral and other dynamics, any political observer worth their salt knows that Governor Cuomo will win reelection with a rather big margin. This is just how things are going to be in this year’s election, so don’t let anyone fool you. Even when we get thousands of votes for Gaza, which will send a strong message to Cuomo and all politicians, there is no impact on the election results. So go ahead and vote your conscience. Vote Gaza for Governor (See how on the home page).

The Moral Side:
As a result of this summer’s bombardment of Gaza, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that 2,104 Palestinians were killed, including 1,462 civilians, among them 495 children and 253 women. Those U.N. numbers would mean that 69 percent of the total killed were civilians.

On August 10, 2014, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, Senate Majority Co-Leaders Dean Skelos and Jeff Klein, and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, announced an upcoming “unity visit” with Israeli government which was carrying out the attacks on Gaza.

They did this despite the mounting evidence of the overwhelming number of civilians dying and the images of the wanton destruction of houses, hospitals, schools, and U.N. shelters.

Over 250 Jewish Holocaust survivors and descendants of survivors know better: they just signed a statement condemning Israel’s massacre on Gaza and calling for an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people.

This behavior of many of our elected officials and candidates is deplorable and must be confronted. They need to know that there is a price to pay for this utter disregard to human suffering and blatant support for criminal occupation, subjugation and torture of entire populations.

This move by those officials tells us that they are either uniformed or coerced to take such moves. In either case they are not for justice and thus unfit for their positions. The very least we can do is send them a message telling them that we will not accept this from them or anyone else. Vote Gaza this November 4th.

Ultimately, we want to send a message that WE THE PEOPLE will not be silent and will hold our elected officials accountable for their actions. While this effort is focused on the Governor race in NY, you can replicate this effort in the states where you have the option to “write-in” a candidate. Vote Adam Gaza for NYS Governor!

Important change, if you didn't vote yet. An election lawyer confirmed that "Free Palestine" is considered a slogan & won't be tabulated (in NY) if someone uses it as a write-in. The write-in must be a person's name, even if fictional. Mickey Mouse gets a lot of votes every election. So, instead of wasting your vote, if you like, write-in the fictional (but powerfully symbolic) name: "Adam Gaza". I have used Adam Gaza as my write-in candidate in 2014 & it was tabulated. Of course, this is only if no candidate for the office is worth voting for. If there's someone on the ballot you want to win, then by all means vote for that candidate. But a lot of the time, candidates run unopposed or all candidates for a certain office are worse than each other, so in these cases, write-in "Adam Gaza".
