How do I post a garage sale to Facebook Marketplace?

I am stumped. I'm a relatively tech-savvy guy, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to post a garage sale to Facebook Marketplace. I see OTHER garage sales listed there under the Classifieds category, but that category isn't an option for me when I try to create an ad of my own. What the heck is going on? Anyone here a FB Marketplace expert who can tell me how to do this? (Online tutorials seem to contain outdated info because I don't have the options that they show.) I feel like a Boomer having to ask this question...
Can you detail where you get stuck? I have not used FBM, but for me it looks like: Under "See More" in the left nav bar, go to Marketplace. There, left nav bar shows a light blue "+ Create new listing". Then choose "Item for Sale." There is not special button for garage sales. Also, what itsflyable said.

Response by poster: @beagle -- I'm getting stuck exactly where you got to. I go to create a listing, but when I attempt to choose a category, there isn't one. Yet when I search for "garage sales" within marketplace, there's clearly a Classifieds category that doesn't appear as an option for me when I attempt to create a listing. So weird.
I'm find trying to post to Miscellaneous. I do have photos of a couple of star items (Nintendo Switch, iPad), so hopefully that will get me through the algorithm. We'll see.

Long shot but are you running any extensions or adblockers? See if you have the same problem in incognito mode.

Response by poster: @rouftop I *am* running an adblocker on this browser, but I run into the same issue when trying in Safari. Now going to try to create a Miscellaneous listing...

Are you sure the Garage Sales you're finding are coming from the category and not the Title? When I do a search, it looks to me like they're coming from the title.
If you are sure it is the category, if you select category Miscellaneous to lock in a category Facebook is looking for, I'm able to continue typing so it looks like "Miscellaneous, Garage Sale". I'm not sure what that does to Marketplaces filtering though.
You may also want to try the Facebook App or the Market Place app. I don't have it on my phone but I've often found that different versions get updated out of synch with each other so some things may exist in the app version that don't exist in the web version or vice versa.

Response by poster: Thanks, everyone, for the tips. I'm willing to bet that @willnot is correct and that my issues are based on different functionality for different devices. I'm trying to do this from desktop, so I've used the previous suggestions to just post it to the Miscellaneous category. It appears. It's buried deep for some reason (probably because I won't pay to "boost" my results) but it's there. It's just not in the Classifieds-->Garage Sale hierarchy...

What has worked: post it to Miscellaneous, and make sure that you have a photo of at least one item for sale. Be careful, though. The algorithm also doesn't seem to like to see piles of stuff and not one specific item, either. I think it's good to showcase a few specific items, and put prices in the ad for those particular things.
Good Luck!
