How to salvage this hat?

I have a light blue baseball cap. The colour is a bit weathered looking - a little lighter in places and darker in others, but it's a subtle effect. I got a dirt stain on it and scrubbed it off, but this left the brim of the hat with a white circle where I scrubbed. It's very obvious. How can I fix it? I'm open to creative solutions like patches or tie dye, but I don't want anything too loud or boisterous because I liked how calm and understated the colour was.

Touch up with fabric marker?

Get a piece of thin repair tape -- Tenacious Tape or a NoSo patch -- that is a fun shape in an acceptable color.

Both materials are available as die cuts or in sheets that you can cut with a scissors, and are very flat.

Embroider over it in a muted color/design? I look at r/visiblemending for ideas and am really enjoying the prettify+memorialize approach to stains and damage (maybe swayed also by a kintsugi show I just watched).

Lean into it? With a brush and diluted bleach, even out the circle. Maybe add a concentric ring or two.

seconding fabric marker - if you go into a big art supply shop with the hat, you should be able to get a pretty good match - there are a lot of shades available. Gently dot on the marker until the light area is filled in.

Some laundry bar soaps have an added optical brightener. Washing the rest of the cap with such a soap might brighten it up enough to make the contrast less noticeable. The white Zote bar is one example.

If you use a permanent marker, a drop of rubbing alcohol will dilute the color and spread it out so it's easier to blend.
