Where to donate dog crate in Brooklyn today without prior arrangements?

Elderly neighbor just asked me to get rid of their large dog crate today while I’m running errands in a borrowed car. Anywhere in the swath of neighborhoods from Brooklyn Heights to Greenpoint as well as adjacent neighborhoods a bit further away from the river like Bushwick & Bed-Stuy are fine, but I really don’t have time to go deeper into Brooklyn or to other boroughs. Where can I drop it off that doesn’t require advance notice (a cursory search showed places that needed email ahead of time)?

Most people here just put them on the street and eventually someone will pick it up.

That's a valuable piece of curb score. Put it on a curb where there are not garbage cans presently standing and it'll be gone in a couple hours.

Take it to any animal shelter. They'll happily accept it.

Best answer: I'm not sure if Sean Casey Animal Rescue (in windsor terrace but right off the G) fits your location parameters, but they'd be happy to have it.

Reach out to local rescue groups. Off the top of my head, there’s Badass Animal Rescue and Hearts and Bones Rescue.
