How to get a jewelry thing soldered in NYC

I want to put a different fitting on a small charm. Right now it has a little loop. I want to put a more solid loop thing on it, so when I wear it attached to a chain, it won't flip over. Is there any place to go to have this little bit of soldering done in New York City? I am familiar with the 47th Street jewelry district with all the little shops, but I wouldn't know which one to go to. Also, looking all the bling on display might damage my eyes (kidding).

When I have needed jewelry repaired or cleaned or altered I’ve asked the store I bought it from. You could also consider talking to someone at a department store jewelry counter (there are still a few of those in NYC right??? gotta be) for a reference. Especially if it’s a small thing, like changing a standard jump ring for a different finding, they might do it right there.

Best answer: For a tiny repair/alteration like this, I've gone to my neighborhood jewelry shop recommended by a friend here in Astoria, Yogi Lala. They're really fairly priced and fast.
