Searching for a recipe dating from the 1970s for a "Strawberry Cream Cheese Cake Pie" that was probably printed in a magazine advertisement for one of the ingredients
I've done a search but have ruled out every recipe so far. This is what we know:
It is a baked pie, probably for 30 min in a 350 degree oven.
Crust: Graham cracker crumbs + butter, pressed into a pie plate. The graham crackers came in a box with a pour spout, already crumbled. Probably by the same company that makes the regular crackers, Nabisco?
Topping: Frozen strawberries in syrup + cornstarch to thicken. The strawberries came frozen in a brick shape and were cooked with the cornstarch in a saucepan on the stove top. Possibly made by BirdsEye?
Filling: This is where it gets tricky. 1? 2? packages of Philadelphia Brand Cream Cheese, softened + sugar +???. Dumped in a bowl and beaten with a mixer. Nobody can remember the additional ingredient that was added to make the cream cheese less dense. It wasn't whipping or heavy cream. It wasn't Cool Whip. It wasn't evaporated or condensed milk. Maybe eggs?? Because it is baked which a lot of these recipes aren't.
Not sure if the strawberry topping is spread on before it goes in the oven or after baking.
It's always called Strawberry Cream Cheese Cake Pie. Looking for the 1970s version. Help?

I remember the graham crumb product (died when reliable premade crusts that wouldn't fall apart hit the market), and the strawberries (went looking for some in the past year and can't find the canned bricks anymore, I think the dawn of Individually Frozen killed them off). I can't find cake-pie anywhere, including r/Old_Recipes but you should consider posting this question there.
I don't think something at that time would have been called a "cake pie" unless it had flour in it. Do you recall anything more about the texture of the filling? Would you say it had a crumb, or was just verrrry light and fluffy? If the latter, I wonder if the proportions used for Japanese cheesecake would come close to what you're looking for?
Silly 70s people, naming a recipe something basically ungoogleable!

"Strawberry Cheese Cake" from Better Homes & Gardens, May 1954- seems similar to your description? The missing ingredient would be both egg yolks and beaten egg whites.

I think this or this might get you pretty close to where you want to go, if you don't find the exact one you're after. It sounds like you could be in for some very tasty experimenting!

Response by poster: Marked above as best because it led me to an answer if not the answer. A Pinterest (horrid site, can’t link) post had a photo of the inside panel of a Philadelphia cream cheese package with a very similar recipe which used eggs as the missing ingredient and that makes sense as our family one was very simple. None of this fancy zest of lemon stuff. Truly mid-century nostalgia since you can’t buy two of the ingredients anymore.
