Looking for a vacation destination from New Jersey with a balcony

Looking to go on a trip for a couple of days and the only criteria are it be a place we haven’t been before, and that where we stay has a balcony.

Looking to travel next month and haven’t booked anything because we’re struggling to make a decision. We live in central NJ and are hoping to get away for a few days without the kids.

We’re mostly looking for someplace relaxing. It would be nice to have some restaurants or things to see but we’re not going to try to fill the time. Mostly hoping for being able to sleep in, do some reading, sit out on the balcony with some wine, that kind of thing.

Any locale will be considered; beach, lake, mountain, maybe even city. If a balcony isn’t available, maybe a porch will work. A king bed would be nice but probably not a dealbreaker. Leaning toward domestic travel but not ruling out international. Would rather have too many suggestions than too few. Specific lodging and attraction recommendations are welcome.

Thank you!

I suggest Ithaca, NY. I had a quick look at VRBO and found this place that looks nice.

When we lived in Lawrenceville, Mr Epigrams and I had a great time going down to Cape May. It's a standard for a reason.

Easy to get to from central NJ, Port O Call Hotel is at one end of the boardwalk in Ocean City (NJ). There are plenty of rooms with balconies and unobstructed views of the ocean. Room service, mini fridge, peace and quiet, the beach. It's a pretty sweet spot to chill out.

Might be a little far for a short trip from NJ, but it's hard to beat the balconies at Mountain Home Inn in Marin. You can hike down into Muir Woods from a trailhead just across the street from the Inn, too.

Ocean City, MD is easy to get to from NJ, has many hotels with balconies, and restaurants, and is very relaxing. I like staying in North Ocean City and walking in Northside Park, which is on the bay, but is very lovely. Highly recommend taking the Cape May - Lewes ferry to get to the DE/MD beach areas. The area is very walkable, but also, the bus that runs up and down the strip is only $4 a day, so if you want to leave your car at your hotel and bus to the boardwalk or anywhere on the strip really, it's cheap and convenient. OCMD is so nice at this time of year before the tourist season really kicks off. If you're into the beach, it's just great.

St Michaels, Maryland. The Harbour Inn has balconies (I've stayed there before) as do other spots.

It's a cute Eastern Shore town with shops, restaurants, a winery, etc, very relaxing and easy to navigate on foot. You could stop at Easton on the way.

Not a specific suggestion, but you can get some ideas by going to the AirBnB website and just plugging in a date range and only applying the filter for "Amazing Views". It will bring up a ton of options and a place with an amazing view tends to have balconies to showcase it.
