Gift for exchange student to Taiwan

I have a young friend (18) who will be spending a year as an exchange student in Taiwan, and I would like to give her a gift that might enhance her experience. Price $50-$100. I don't really have anything else to go on. Can you help?

Fancy earplugs (loop brand maybe?)
Phone battery
Comfy walking shoes (Allbirds or Blundstones?)
Packable down jacket
Great backpack or fanny/shoulder bag

Gift card to Lululemon would be good for clothing or bags, it’s a high-quality and practical brand that’s very fashionable and desirable for 18 year olds! With $100 she could afford her main leggings, hoodie, or bag - a luxurious basic item that would last the whole trip.

Get somebody scholarly and well-versed in naming conventions to translate her English name to Chinese, in a learned and auspicious way. I've seen some awkward or cringy translations, the equivalent of "Stevedore," perhaps. A proper Chinese name should exude virtue, elegance and beauty.

Then, print it up in a cute business card (both English and Chinese) for her, or cute stickers/badges. It'll be nice for meeting people, who will gush over the culturally appropriate Chinese name.

There seems to be a great mass transit system. Maybe top off their commute card?

If she likes hiking, there appear to be some really breathtaking hikes there, so you could offer to buy her a nice pair of trail runners (excellent for day hikes).

Another idea is if she will have some vacation time, you could offer to buy her a RT ticket somewhere in the region - depending on which airport she'll be near, there will be some options under $100.

It can rain a lot, at least in Taipei. Maybe a high quality, lightweight umbrella?
