Late night/ early morning car service in Bilbao, Spain

What is the best method for getting to the Bilbao train station at 4:00 AM.

This summer I'll be traveling to a few cities in Spain. I have all of the connections worked out, but need advice on one piece. My bus from Bilbao to San Sebastian leaves the Intermodal at 4:00 AM.
We are not night owls, so I have no real experience getting an uber/ lyft in any major city in the middle of the night or early morning. Will I be able to get a ride at this time of the night to the bus station on a ride share app? If not, what alternative would you suggest.

Uber allows users in Bilbao to book trips for specific times up to 30 days in advance, which would alleviate worry around availability.

Scheduling a rideshare doesn’t actually reserve a driver for that time, it just sends a request 15-20 minutes before the requested time. I have not been picked up before and it really fucked me over. So, don’t do this, probably.

Check out Bilbao’s Bilbobus night network; the link is in Spanish. The “plano general” pdf is a map of all the lines; cross-reference that with your address and that of the bus terminal, and see if there’s a line that links them. You could also arrange a taxi through your accommodation, presumably.

AirBnB or hotel? In my experience, when needing taxis at 4AM to get to the airport, the hotel always had a reliable driver on call, booked the night before. This is in Asia though, not Europe.

Best answer: No experience with Bilbao but I do live in Spain. In my city, the regular non-Uber taxis run 24/7 and consistently show up within 10 minutes of being called, unless you are somewhere at the edge of city limits. They don't accept pre-booking, though (I think they are actually prohibited from doing so). Maybe you could call your hotel or host in Bilbao now to ask if this is also the case there.

Response by poster: Thank you all. Marking nanny's as best answer as the Bilbao tourism board also recommended this approach.
