FWIW I don't recall much if any Far Side cartoons that used contemporary cultural references like this. There's a very good chance in my mind this isn't Larson but some other single-panel funny, like the Bizarro linked above.

Well, I thought it sounded familiar but I've just flipped through every page of all five anthologies, the chickens are restless, unnatural selections, night of the crash test dummies, and last chapter and worse, and I didn't spot it. Womp womp.

?? Far Side pulled contemporary cultural references all the time. I didn't stop to read anything for content, and flipping through I spotted cartoons specifically naming Madonna, Jack Kevorkian, and Leona Helmsley. There were plenty.
