How do I get English as my YouTube language?

YouTube changed my language to Portuguese. How can I change it back to English? English is my default language in all my accounts online, including all Google apps. Portuguese and French are listed as secondary languages.
In my Google account settings, English is listed as my preferred language, Canada as my country. I am physically located in Canada.
I tried to clear cache + cookies and restart the browser. I tried to do that while logged out from my Google account. There are no more language settings directly on the YouTube account.
The only thing that helped was to completely delete Portuguese from my languages, but his is vaguely useful for searches (I say "vaguely" because it works badly, insisting on giving me Spanish results most of the time, even though I deleted Spanish from my languages; but that's another Ask).
Please help!
