What brand is this furniture label from?

I know this is an extreme long shot, but I wonder if anyone can identify the label inside my 1940s maple dresser. There's not much to go on, and it could be a local maker. The characters also might represent the maker's line. I've googled furniture-makers' logos and maker-marks and also tried Google image search. Thank you!

I would bet that probably says "Group" in faux Olde Englishe script, part of a longer name.

Can you provide a photo of the dresser as well? Wondering if it might be easier to find matching photos of the dresser, and those other photos may come with descriptions.

Possibly "The Sussex Group" by Bassett Furniture (founded 1902 in Bassett, VA) although I can't find a picture of the labeling for that line. The main Bassett logo from the era was round with a covered wagon in the middle.
