Recommendations for ADHD evaluation in Boston

Where can I get an evaluation for ADHD in the Boston area? I do have insurance that covers behavioral health, but I have a deductible that I have to hit first, so cost is a factor here, but not the biggest one. I have one quote so far for $2000 from a psychologist that I think is reputable (but honestly, other than looking at credentials, I don't know how to size them up).

Possible but I'm not sure if they do evaluations - Mass. General Hospital's Pediatric Psychopharmacology & Adult ADHD Program. They list a contact number. Maybe if they can't do the evaluation, they can recommend somewhere that can?

Many places only do children so I would suggest looking at psychology departments at a university for adult neuropsychological assessment or evaluation. Something like this unit at Boston Med. A university will generally accept more types of insurance, although you may have to wait several months before getting seen. It's a relatively standardized process and not as variable as your relationship with a specific therapist.

For many hours you will be asked questions and quizzed, your interaction with the actual doctor will only be a small portion of the process.

I just got an eval (with a formal diagnosis) through a local psychiatry practice in Michigan, it would have been $225 out of pocket but my insurance covered most of it. I literally just did a Google search for psychiatrists in my area and got an appointment within two weeks. $2000 seems insane. Even my psych in San Francisco only charged $300 an hour. The test takes like 30 minutes.
