Spotify queue

How does the Spotify Queue function work?

I wish I could focus the question more, but frankly I’m baffled. I like to add a few songs to the queue, but then I want to listen to something else, and maybe save that queue … madness ensues. Hep me!

I think it’s first in, first played. You don’t save the queue. It’s like a jukebox. Every song you add gets its turn, in order.

I don’t know that there’s a way to save it, although you can add songs to a playlist instead, and play that.

That's my understanding of the queue as well. It's for "hey, I want to hear this song next", not for long-term storage.

Yes, the above posters are right. You can adjust the order of things in the queue to put the song that you want to listen to next by going into the queue and dragging it up. It doesn't have a function like Apple Music does where you can ask it to play next (go to the top of the queue) or play last (go to the end of the queue).

However, if you press play on any song (or album or playlist) when you have items in your queue, it will play that song (or the first song of the album) first and then return to your queue. The rest of the album will end up below the queue in the "Next from [album/playlist]" list

Response by poster: Thanks all. This is most helpful.
