Action on student loan forgiveness?

Is there any action I can take to support student loan forgiveness this late in the game?

As a holder of semi-crippling federal student loans for the last 13 years and probably the next 8-10 at least, I'm naturally emotionally invested in Biden's loan forgiveness plan. Is there anything I can do take action to help make this happen this late in the game, knowing that he's supposed to be deciding basically any day now?

My state representatives are already among the most vocal supports of loan forgiveness, so outside of calling them, is there anything else that I can do or to encourage others to join me to collectively do to edge this closer to reality? I just want to feel like I did everything I could to help myself and others in this.

There are organizations that buy medical debt for pennies on the dollar, then forgive it. I don't know if something similar exists for student loan debt, but you could look into it. It wouldn't be about lobbying for a political outcome so much as taking direct action to help at least a few people.

Best answer: The Debt Collective is doing a lot of good organizing around this issue, including options for activism that include a strike. They have a new member call coming up on 8/15 where you can learn more!

I bacame a member of the Sweet vs DeVos case that is now the Sweet vs Cordona case. I think my loans are forgiven, and you can still apply for.forgiveness through this case. Applying now puts uou off by maybe 3 years, but your stuff, including interest will be on hold, this, if you went to one of the many, many schools affected by this case. Here is one discussion. Find out for yourself, follow every link.

Thanks to stellaluna's link I found this,
Income-Driven Repayment and Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program Account Adjustment
which seems very promising. My loans are about 25 years old.

The PSLF/TEFL program is permitting people to consolidate their federal loans (including Perkins etc) into one single lump direct loan and counting all time that payments were paused/0% interest during the pandemic as counting toward the total # of qualifying payments for this program, but you have to get your debt consolidated by Halloween this year!
