Call the Midwife: Where is season 11 on DVD (U.S.)?

A U.S.-based friend who loves Call the Midwife is fretting because she can't find season 11 on DVD (this Amazon listing says most U.S. DVD players won't be able to play this version). What's the deal? Can anyone find a firm release date? Thanks!

Last season, the US DVD releases of CtM season didn't come out until December. The US release sometimes (usually) lags behind the UK release, because the airdates on PBS also lag behind. While I think the season just wrapped up on PBS, PBS is using its appeal to push their $5/month streaming service and is in no rush.

Generally they release a set once a year - as DOT says series 10 was released on physical media in North America 2021-07-12 (series 9 was on 2020-05-19, Series 8 was on 2019-05-21). I don't see any listing for series 11 for the next quarter so I expect an autumn or winter 2022 release (I bet the winter release would be most likely).

Your Amazon listing is for the UK release which unless you have a player that can manage that it will not play in a standard non-modified player (they are ridiculously cheap now and in fact the player you have could possibly be modified to play other region PAL discs - that'll be up to you to search and figure out).

Does your friend have internet access? If they can use a vpn (“fly to England”) they can access current Call the Midwife on bbc iPlayer. Not that they should, just stating a possibility.
