What was the UFO tailing the plane I saw?

I saw a white speck tailing the wing of a plane at about 16:00, 26th April 2022 over Trowbridge, Wiltshire, UK. What was it?
The plane was going in the direction of Brize Norton/ Fairford so I expect it was a military aircraft. It had two engines and appeared to be whitish. Not sure what the height was but it was higher than the usual military aircraft that pass overhead but not as high as the transatlantic planes that pass.
A white speck was travelling at the exact same speed as the plane, behind the right wing. It wasn't too far behind; possibly level with the tail. I assume it was some kind of drogue/probey thing. Its speed looked to match the plane's exactly so it appeared that it was being towed.
I saw the plane for about three seconds before it went behind a cloud.
Any ideas what I might have seen? Can you identify the plane?

Response by poster: Yes. Some of the google image results show similar planes with hoses trailing the wing in the same position as the one I saw. Amazing how the eye can resolve something so small from so far away.
