Where can I sit on a new toilet in NYC?

We need to buy a new toilet. We have to fit a specific gauge, so our options are limited, but we do have a choice between "comfort height" and regular height. I know a lot of people have Opinions about taller toilets (mostly negative, it seems). We went to a Home Depot to check things out and found that all of the toilets were basically mounted high up on the wall. Is there a showroom / place in NYC where we can test-sit more than one brand of toilet? Obviously only as a dry run.
In my (admittedly limited) experience, only very tall people and people who have a harder time standing from a seated position tend to like taller toilets. So if you're planning on growing old in your home (or, I guess, growing to be extremely tall!), that might be something to consider.

Sorry, missed the edit window -- that should be "near the Flatiron Building", not in it.

Not so obviously.
I have shopped for plumbing supplies at Ferguson on West 55th St. They have a showroom on East 58th St and one in Brooklyn. Obviously, call before you go to ask.

Can you think whether any friends/family have a tall toilet? Ask around? Go into a few large stores/coffee places with public bathrooms and see if there are different height ones to try out? The handicapped stall typically has a taller toilet, no?
I'm not tall at all but I LOVE our tall toilet and dislike everyone's short toilets now.

Not tall person here, but my partner had a tall toilet installed when his bathroom was redone. I love it. I find it very comfortable, and I'm 5' 1". I'm honestly thinking of having one installed in my second bathroom that needs re-doing.

The Lowe's in Carroll Gardens had a few on the floor last time I was there. This was 3-4 years ago so I'd give them a call first to ask if it's still the case.
And if you want another opinion on high toilets -- I really dislike the ones installed in my parents' home recently (the position feels really unnatural to me) but my folks seem to like them.
