What's this 90s web thing I remember?

I recently dug up a vague memory about a mid-to-late '90s web animation series, and being unable to remember any more details is driving me nuts. Details are scanty, but if anyone can think of what I might be remembering, it'll be a real relief. I think it may have been VRML or something similar. My minimal recollections inside.

Here are the facts as I recall them:
  1. It was a series of at least a few short animations, I think mostly only a minute or two long.
  2. It was low-polygon 3D animation, with voice acting.
  3. There were at least two main characters interacting, and I'm pretty sure one of them was a pterodactyl or something similar.
  4. In one episode, the gag was that there appeared to be a shark fin circling around, scaring the main characters. Then the "fin" moved up onto land, revealing it was only a triangle, and fell over. The two main characters screamed "Aaaah! Geometry!" and ran away.
  5. This was before bandwidth was plentiful enough that streaming video was common, which I think puts it in mid-to-late '90s. I think therefore that the web series was partly a tech demo for either VRML or some similar nascent technology.
  6. I think I had to use RealPlayer to watch it, rather than being something that was embedded video in the browser.
  7. I don't think it was Floops. If anything, I think the graphics were a bit simpler.
Hope me, Metafilter!
