Mood-tracking app for an iPhone?

What's a good mood-tracking app? A friend is looking for one to help them document their emotions as they adjust their medication. They don't want "mindfulness." They just want to look at data: e.g. Tuesday morning I was angry, Tuesday evening I was happy, Wednesday I was tired all day. Must be an iPhone app. No ads; paid is fine.
Oh, and I’ve settled on tracking morning, afternoon, and evening. One data point a day wasn’t doing it, granularity-wise.

Daylio might work. It can do more than just that (you can add more information & customize the moods) but I mostly just use it for mood tracking. You can set reminders for whatever times work best.
(I use the Android version. I forget how much it costs but it's just a one-time fee.)

Some period trackers (period as in menstrual) have built in mood trackers. I don’t have specific suggestions but mentioning it in case it brings one to mind for anyone else reading.

Following up on nouvelle-personne, Clue can be great, but it’s not easy to navigate if you don’t actually get a period. I have an IUD and so it’s been… more than a thousand days? since my last period, which means my Clue moods and extra info are tiny pinpricks on a cycle starting sometime back in 2018. I’d love to be able to use Clue to track fatigue and mood for meds and other reasons, but it doesn’t have an option to just show patterns on a weekly/monthly basis. If your friend gets a period, it can be a great option! Includes a number of built-in options for tracking pain, sleep, exercise, and you can add issues of your own to track. It was built in concert with a university, and so I have higher confidence in their data security as well.

I haven't used these much yet but I'm trying to find a good pain tracker so I'm just trying every app that comes up in a search for "tracker" (and it is rough out here, most of them are so bad!) These are the best ones for mood I've found so far

Exist is great https://exist.io/ and doesn’t sell your data.

Flaredown gives you a graph of symptoms against treatments which she might like.

Another vote for Daylio. Quick to input each day (or multiple times, realistically) and quite customizable. Free version was adequate but for me worth the 1 time cost to purchase. (Caveat: I used android.)

I really liked the simplicity of Moods (choices are good/okay/bad and then optional extras tailored to each choice). Very quick to enter and it was easy to see a pattern fast.

I recommend one that pings you randomly (within set time limits, say 8a to 10pm) throughout the day so, over time, you're getting pretty representative and useful data of your moods as influenced by various environmental, temporal, internal and social influences. This can be particularly helpful if paired with a short note function where you can jot down what's going on around you (or inside you) and could allow you to pinpoint factors influencing your mood you hadn't considered/noticed.
If anybody knows if any of the mood trackers out there have this random pinging function (as opposed to scheduled check in times) I'd love to know about them!
