How Do I Temporarily Close Zoom Chat When I Am Not Meeting Facilitator?

I am not the meeting facilitator. I want to turn chat on and off at will. Is there a way I can do this??

If you want to disable chat for all participants, no, you must be the host, or have host privileges. However, If you just want to turn it off for yourself, just click the chat button at the bottom center of your zoom window and chat will disappear.
